Milk's Cosmetic Secrets

Benefits of Milk on the Skin

"Pure milk is extremely soothing and hydrating for the skin, so milk baths, cold milk soaks, or using topical beauty products with milk as the main ingredient is a great way to soothe and moisturize any dry, irritated areas of the body,"

says, dermatologist Amy Brodsky.

Some other benefits include:

Minimize crow’s-feet

Whole milk’s fats plump skin to “fill in” lines, and its lactic acid (which gets used in many cosmetics), gently exfoliates the area and makes it look smoother and more youthful.  Soak two cotton rounds in whole milk and place over closed eyelids for 10 minutes, then remove and rinse.

Glow & Hydration

Whole milk mixed with sugar and put on your face like a mask will help you look refreshed. Use the milk-sugar mix to buff away old skin cells and bring a natural glow. The natural enzymes brighten as they clean out dead skin.

Tighten & Even Skin Tone

Mix some whole milk with ripe (brown spots) mashed banana to help reduce fine lines, wrinkles, and even age spots!

The best and easiest way to use milk as a skincare is to use  powdered whole milk mixed with regular whole milk, or use cosmetics with milk in them.
