Karen Millen Your Style-Your Story
I am completely obsessing over Karen Millen's AW16: The Campaign.
Instead of following the typical fashion advertising protocol of having a pretty but expressionless face, modeling the latest trends, the brand created a series of visually compelling portraits-matching pieces of the autumn and winter collection to express individual style and personality. The clothes model the personality.
A protégé of Prince, singer, and songwriter Judith Hill was born in LA and wrote her first song at 4. She is wearing a classic tweed piece updated with raw edges, contemporary silhouettes and is holding a statement handbag. The outfit complements her striking features, old-school soul, and devil-may-care attitude. The collection, like the girl, is contemporary with a classic twist.
Eleanor Tomlinson, the Alice in Wonderland actress, is fun, flirty, and charming- a feminine beauty. Eleanor is wearing a romantic lace, high neck blouse, complemented with a beautiful floral skirt, embodied with metallic finishes and neat pleats to portray her feminine attributes. The collection, like the girl, is a wonderland of femininity.
Model and philanthropist, Karolina Kurkova, is a self-driven woman who inspires confidence, and she demands – and receives – respect. Karolina shows her personality in a key length, midi, in rich rues and opulent textures, combining razor-sharp pleats with a sumptuous, gilded sheen. The collection, like the woman, portrays femininity with great strength.
Beth Butterwick, chief executive of Karen Millen, said: “The campaign is a celebration of female creativity and style, which is at the center of our brand. This season we have brought together three diverse personalities in a campaign that encapsulates individual and eclectic style to inspire women who want to wear beautifully crafted clothes.”
