This is just BEAUTIFUL.......

The surviving members of Led Zeppelin will be honored at the Kennedy Center with an award that celebrates the greatest influences of America through the arts.

The band will be wined and dined by President Obama himself at a dinner reception.  How Saaa-Weet is that?!  (Obama took ROCK THE VOTE to a whole new level. HA!)

According to the Washington Post,

"The three surviving members of the Britain’s Led Zeppelin — John Paul Jones, Jimmy Page, and Robert Plant — are being honored for transforming the sound of rock and roll. They influenced many other bands with their innovative, blues-infused hits such as “Good Times Bad Times,” ‘’Immigrant Song,” ‘’Kashmir” and “Stairway to Heaven.”  The band, which has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, issued a joint statement saying America was the first place to embrace their music."

Everyone in the band portrayed natural, pure, talent. The music came from the soul and moved the listener.  A quality hardly seen today.

Today's music lacks so much originality and talent.  It's more about image and looking cool. The music is already written for the performer, and their moves choreographed before the performance. The only thing missing are the puppet strings.  Not very inspiring.  =/

Music is a way of expressing the inexpressible. Music should move, inspire, make a statement.  Zeppelin did this with ALL of their albums.  Zeppelin touched the soul with beautiful lyrics and original music, and it was universally appealing. =)

Their inspiration can be heard in the music of so many talented American rock bands,  Pearl Jam, Incubus, Nirvana, Maroon 5,  The White Stripes, Dave Matthews,  and the list goes on.....Zeppelin is truly the Mozart of Rock and Roll.
Congratulations and may your music live on!

Here's a LOB favorite!
